McDonald’s
I think there would be
very few people in New Zealand who could say that they have never had a
Cheeseburger or a Big Mac or some kind of deep fried nourishing goodness from
the fast food giant McDonald’s.
Through my photography project I want to explore the different groups of
people that visit McDonald’s over a 24hr period.
Different demographics at
different times. Businessmen, Students, Workers for breakfast, lunch and
dinner. Families for an easy option over cooking. Young children for that
special outing or treat. Drunken people for the ultimate in comforting, tasty
food at the end of a night of hard partying.
McDonald’s has attained a
cultural status in the kiwi night (and probably globally) for the place to go
once the night is over. It’s a place to meet up and feel better. Personally for
me maccas at the end of the night has to be one of the best parts. Is that sad?
I feel McDonald’s is an
interesting space due to the different people it draws but for the same reason.
Quick, cheap, tasty food. I will focus specifically on the McDonalds on Manners
St just off Cuba. It’s a 24/7 restaurant that never seems to stop.
