Time

Through this project i want to create photos showing visual illusions of levitation. I want to create between 4 and 6 images showing interesting scenes with moments frozen in time. Using high speed photography to create surreal images. I will also do one or two photos creating the same illusion but using some digital editing in photoshop. Skills i will learn for this are clever framing and capturing to alter our  perception. To capture these images i will use a high shutter speed 1/1000th or above, because of this i will need to photograph in bright situations mostly during the day or using a flash. I will use a wide aperture focused on the main subject/person in the image to focus the attention of the viewer. I have chosen this idea after finding the website http://yowayowacamera.com/ run by Tokyo based photographer Natsumi Hayashi. The whole website  showcases her amazing levitation portraits. She creates amazingly surreal, well composed portraits which capture your eye and make you ask "How the hell did they do this". I want to create the same feelings with my photographs. The purpose of this project is to produce a series of interesting images that will appeal to a wide range of audiences. It is creating something entreating and beautiful for the sake of it.
