Invisible and Visible Connections


Through this project i will visually represent the extreme connectedness of people today. The obvious connections and the ones we dont even think of. The high degree of how networked people are both virtually and actually and how  an event in one persons life either non-serious (Small accident, Embarrassment) or very serious ( Death, Suicide) ripples through these connections and effects such a massive range of people. A series of images done in the studio will represent these ideas using a number of different people. Portraits will be taken and then lasers or lines of light will be used to represent the connections . Some photos will  be single individuals others will be a few people. The photos will be taken in dark with long exposures. A flash of light will be used to illuminate the individual(s) and then a torch/led or laser will be used to create many lines between the individuals and then out of the frame to represent the many many connections with others that are not present. The ones that cannot be seen and sometimes we dont realize are there but are
